Album Details
The legendary Santana set the music world on fire back in the late-60s with their hypnotic blend of Latin-fused rock, jazz and soul, augmented with the brilliant and skillful musicianship of their leader and guitarist Carlos Santana. Bursting onto the scene initially with the worldwide smash hit single "Evil Ways," this first offering would prove to become a huge catalyst for things to come.
The guitar icon would take the band to the top of all the popular music charts with the release of the 1976 fusion classic Festival which would yield a plethora of hit singles like "Carnaval," "Let The Children Play," and "Give Me Love," to go along with additional album standouts such as the rocking "Let The Music Set You Free" and powerful "Reach Up."
In addition to Carlos Santana on lead guitar, the masterful 10-song set features Leon Patillo on lead vocals and keyboards, and longtime associates Tom Coster (keyboards), Jose Areas (percussion) and Paul Jackson (bass). Friday Music is pleased to supplement its Santana 180 Gram Vinyl Series with the limited edition vinyl release of 1976's Festival, mastered by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and pressed at RTI.
